Lauren Silberman's history-making NFL tryout ended quickly.

Silberman, the first woman to take part in a regional scouting combine sponsored by the NFL, suffered a leg injury after two kickoffs Sunday in Florham Park, N.Y., and had to bow out.

According to a report, the MIT graduate appeared to hurt her leg on her first kick, which went about 15 yards, at the New York Jets' indoor training facility. She tried another kickoff and it traveled only 14 yards.

The 28-year-old Silberman, a former college soccer player, then looked at her leg and sought assistance from a trainer. She left the field and and after about 10 minutes tried to come back for a third attempt, but she was limping and could not continue.

Participants in the New York/New Jersey Regional Scouting Combine were trying to advance to Dallas in April for a super-regional combine.
