HERSHEY BOUND: North Penn knocks off La Salle to reach state title game
North Penn knocks off La Salle to reach state title game
North Penn finally beat La Salle on Saturday, knocking off the Explorers 21-14 at Charles Martin Stadium in Philadelphia to reach the PIAA 4A state championship game.
La Salle had beaten the Knights three times in the last 15 months - twice in the last two season openers, and in last year's PIAA 4A semifinal.
But on Saturday, the Knights got their revenge in this year's state semifinal.
Ralph Reeves scored all three touchdowns for North Penn, with the game-winner coming on a 1-yard plunge that broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter.
North Penn will face District 3 champion Central Dauphin, which beat defending state champ North Allegheny 23-20 on a last-second field goal in the other 4A state semifinal on Saturday.
Jim Vaughn has recaps the Knights' win.
