The Miami Heat are finalizing a multi-year contract extension for coach Erik Spoelstra, Yahoo! Sports reported Sunday.
Spoelstra, 42, is 260-134 as the Heat's coach, including 46-21 in the playoffs the last three seasons with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh in the fold. The Heat have won consecutive NBA titles.
Spoelstra started as the team's video coordinator, then became an assistant coach and finally took over coaching duties when Pat Riley moved up to the front office in 2008.
