The Philadelphia Phillies have announced that second baseman Chase Utley will begin a Class A rehab stint Tuesday.
Utley has been on the disabled list since the start of the season with a chronic condition in his left knee.
The Phillies say he's set to start a rehab assignment Tuesday with Class A Clearwater. He will be Clearwater's designated hitter, but is expected to start playing second base soon.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia opens a three-game series Tuesday against the Twins at Minnesota.
