The IronPigs gave up two-run home runs in the 8th and 9th innings in an 8-6 loss to Syracuse at Coca-Cola Park on Sunday.

The loss dropped the 'Pigs to 1-3 on the season, and gave them their first series loss of the year.

Darin Ruf and Leandro Castro each had two hits and two RBIs on the day.

Cesar Hernandez, Cody Asche, and Darin Ruf hit consecutive doubles in the 5th inning.

Asche and Ruf's doubles each drove in a run, breaking open a 4-4 tie and giving the 'Pigs a 6-4 lead.

But Zach Walters tied the game with his third home run of the game in the 8th.

Then Corey Brown hit his second homer of the game to win it for the Chiefs in the 9th.

Zach Miner (0-1, 9.00) gave up both of those late home runs and took the loss for the 'Pigs on the mound.

Ethan Martin struck out three, walked four, and gave up four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings in his first career triple-A start.

The IronPigs will open a three-game series with Pawtucket Monday night at 7:05pm at Coca-Cola Park.
