Eagles quarterback Mike Kafka suffered a fractured left hand in the team's preseason win over the Steelers Thursday night.
Eagles Coach Andy Reid said the injury occurred when someone stepped on Kafka's hand.
He is expected to miss around three weeks.
In the meantime, rookie Nick Foles will be the team's No. 2 quarterback.
Foles had a good debut Thursday night, going 6-for-10 for 144 yards and two touchdown passes.
Kafka was just 5-for-9 for 31 yards and an interception.
