Jon Gruden takes in Lafayette game at Kirby Sports Center

A familiar face took in Lafayette's matchup with American on Saturday at the Kirby Sports Center.

Jon Gruden, former Super Bowl winning coach with Tampa Bay and current Monday Night Football announcer, was on hand for Lafayette's 69-61 loss to American.

Gruden's son, who plays football, was reportedly in town for a college visit during Lafayette's recruiting weekend.

Early on, it looked like Gruden would see a Lafayette win.  The Leopards led by as many as seven in the first half, before American came back to take a seven-point halftime lead.

Charles Hinkle scored 23 points to led American.  Rob Delaney led Lafayette with 12.

Lafayette finishes the first half of Patriot League play at 4-3 within the conference.

The Lafayette women also lost to American, falling on the road, 80-54.
