LeBron James is rethinking his pre-game dunking. As if his work in four quarters — and sometimes two overtimes — hasn’t been entertaining enough, James has been the featured attraction in the Heat’s slam contests during warmups. Prior to Sunday’s win against Cleveland, he casually went behind the back, behind his legs, off the backboard and over Rashard Lewis. Prior to Tuesday’s win against Sacramento, he added a bounce off the floor to the routine. These exhibitions have attracted the attention of owner Micky Arison, who has not only promoted them on Twitter, but has authorized streaming of the spectacular sessions on the team’s website. Following Tuesday’s game, James referred to this “new thing” for his team as “cool,” marveling that Mario Chalmers did a 360-degree slam, and joking that “next thing you know, (James Jones) will be out there throwing it off the backboard.” Then, however, he doused some of the enthusiasm, as he referenced his dogged detractors. “Maybe I should stop because it’s making a lot of people mad about what I do,” James said. “They’re like, ‘Well, if you can do it in warm-ups, why don’t you (want to) be in the dunk contest?’ Stop it.” - See more at: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sports/basketball/lebron-may-dump-the-dunk-routine-during-warmups/nWb99/#sthash.ZlWE8yL6.dpuf
