McDermott, Class headline Thursday's All-State selections
A number of area athletes were named to the PIAA All-State teams on Thursday, including a pair of record-setting running backs.
Central Catholic senior Colin McDermott was named to the PIAA 3A All-State team after rushing for 3,293 yards and 41 touchdowns this season.
Pennridge junior Mike Class was named to the PIAA 4A All-State team after rushing for 2,417 yards and 35 touchdowns for the Rams this year.
Coatesville Head Coach Matt Ortega was honored as the 4A All-State Coach of the Year.
On Wednesday, Wyomissing running back/linebacker Alex Anzalone was named the PIAA 2A Player of the Year, while Bob Wolfrum was named the 2A All-State Coach of the Year.
