Nene did practice Friday after sitting out the last game with a right shoulder injury and could suit up for tonight’s game vs. the New York Knicks. Coach Randy Wittman said before practice that the power forward would test his shooting arm, injured in Monday's 90-84 win at the Toronto Raptors, and make a game-time decision. The Wizards (18-38) need Nene as much for his defense presence as anything. The transition and low-post defense was woeful without him in Wednesday's 96-95 loss to the Detroit Pistons. Wittman held him out of a light practice Thursday. Nene has missed 14 games, including being sidelined by a ligament injury in his foot to start the season. The Knicks have been trying to work through Carmelo Anthony more in the low post. "It doesn't change anything," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said about Nene possibly not playing Friday. "Offensively we've been trying to establish Amar'e (Stoudemire) and Melo when we can down low to give us an inside presence." The Wizards' loss to the Pistons ended their three-game winning streak. Trevor Booker started in place of Nene at power forward and backup center Kevin Seraphin was effective in with 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting in just 17 minutes.
