Padres ink RHP Owings to 1-year deal
Pitcher gets $1 million deal to join San Diego

The San Diego Padres signed righthander Micah Owings to a one-year contract Wednesday.
The deal is worth a reported $1 million for Owings, who posted an 8-0 record with a 3.57 ERA in 33 appearances (four starts) for the Arizona Diamondbacks last year.
The 29-year-old Owings, who was a starter for the bulk of his first three seasons, has a 32-31 career record and 4.91 ERA in five seasons.
