SALISBURY TWP., Pa. -

A local Paralympian has some new hardware to add to her trophy case.

Noga Nir-Kistler was presented Friday with state citations today from Pa. Rep. Justin Simmons and Pa. Sen. Bob Mench.

Nir-Kistler, of Salisbury Twp., Lehigh Co., lives with a chronic nerve disorder that has confined her to a wheelchair.

Nir-Kistler recently competed in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London and brought home the bronze medal in the 100-meter breast stroke.

"Everybody has just been so supportive, and family and friends, I got a lot of emails, a lot of positive responses," said Nir-Kistler, who also competed in the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, but then she played table tennis.
