All-Star point guard Tony Parker will miss approximately four weeks with a Grade 2 left ankle sprain, the Spurs announced Saturday. The timeline encompasses 14 games, including contests against Oklahoma City (March 11), Denver (March 27), the Los Angeles Clippers (March 29), Miami (March 31) and Memphis (April 1). Provided Parker misses the full four weeks, it’s doubtful he’d be ready to play major minutes at Oklahoma City on April 4. The Spurs (46-14) currently hold a three-game lead over the Thunder (42-16) for first in the Western Conference and a two-game edge over Miami (42-14) for the league’s best record. Fifteen of their final 22 regular-season games are at home, including Sunday against Detroit. The playoffs begin on April 20. Parker sprained his ankle after finishing a layup late in the third quarter of Friday’s 130-102 victory over Sacramento. Grade 2 sprains are defined as partial ligament tears, with moderate to severe pain and swelling. Regaining full strength and stability can take up to three months.
