Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby participated in a full practice on Monday -- his first since suffering his latest setback.
Crosby is dealing with a treatable soft tissue injury that is causing swelling in his top two vertebrae. The 2007 NHL MVP has not played since Dec. 5 due to concussion-like symptoms.
The 24-year-old Crosby skated with Steve Sullivan and Cal O'Reilly during Monday's practice, according to the team's website.
Crosby had been sidelined for 10 1/2 months before making a dramatic return to the lineup on Nov. 21, scoring two goals and adding two assists versus the New York Islanders.
Crosby collected two goals and 10 assists in eight contests before he was shut down again. He suffered the initial injury in January 2011.
