Detroit Pistons rookie center Andre Drummond participated in team-related activities at Monday's shootaround for the first time since he was sidelined by a back injury. Pistons coach Lawrence Frank, after nearly two weeks away from the team, said Drummond's progress was noticeable and "he got up and down the court a little bit" Monday morning, before a 119-82 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. "I think any time you start to reintegrate a guy with your team, that's a positive thing," Frank said. "I think he's definitely on the right track. Obviously, we've been very conservative with this for very intelligent reasons. I think we'll just continue ... to up his work level every day." Drummond was diagnosed Feb. 7 with a non-surgical stress fracture in his fifth lumbar vertebra, suffered four days earlier. He has missed the last 19 games. Frank said he planned to meet with strength and conditioning coach Arnie Kander about Drummond's next steps during a three-game break before the Pistons play Friday at Miami. Kander said no tests are planned on Drummond during that time, adding that the rehabilitation is going well and conditioning is the player's next priority. The Pistons have 13 games left and Frank made it clear he would like to have the 19-year-old Drummond back.
