The effort was there for the Red Wings, and there some positive to take out of Tuesday night's game against the Predators. But ultimately, it was another point lost for a Red Wings team that hasn't won in four games now. This time, division rival Nashville — playing its third game in four nights — defeated Detroit, 4-3, in overtime. Predators defenseman Shea Weber scored 44 seconds into overtime, on a rebound coming off the back dasher on a shot by Colin Wilson. Detroit saw its winless streak reach four (0-2-2). "For sure we could have executed right of the hop (better)," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "We did some really good things. I'm sure not disappointed with the effort at all. We competed. A couple of guys weren't prepared to play and that doesn't make you happy." The Red Wings rallied twice in the third period, tying the score. Pavel Datsyuk (goal, assist) evened it 3-3 at 13:30, 36 seconds after Nashville had regained the lead. Datsyuk beat four Predators through the middle of the ice, then flipped a shot past Pekka Rinne for his eighth goal. "That goal will be a highlight goal for years," forward Henrik Zetterberg said. "He had a few other chances, too. It's fun to see when he's playing like that." But a main theme, again, for the Red Wings was the staggering number of injuries. An important one Tuesday was goaltender Jimmy Howard, who exited the game at 11:22 of the first period with what appeared to be a head injury. Babcock said Howard was hit during practice and it affected him during the game. "He wasn't seeing good, or something like that," said Babcock, who added he was surprised to see Howard skating off. "We made the switch and tried to buy a little time for (Gustavsson) to get in." From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130219/SPORTS0103/302190440#ixzz2LSIJPmVv
