The Carolina Hurricanes made short work of the Florida Panthers at home on Saturday, scoring three times in the first 10 minutes of a 6-2 victory. The triumph was the Hurricanes' first in six games against Southeast Division opponents. The Panthers will attempt to earn a split in the home-and-home set with their rival when they host Carolina on Sunday. Florida starting goaltender Jose Theodore suffered a lower-body injury on the first shot of Saturday's game and left early. Scott Clemmensen allowed six goals for the second time this season, leaving the Panthers with some very immediate concerns in the crease.The Hurricanes have been shut out in two of their last three road games, dropping their away record to 6-4-1 this season. After failing to record a point in January, Jiri Tlusty scored nine goals as part of a 15-point February. He added his 10th tally on Saturday.
