Captain Sidney Crosby has turned it on in February, and so have the Pittsburgh Penguins. Crosby enters Friday's home meeting with the Florida Panthers having recorded 18 points in 10 games during the month. The superstar has scored 13 goals in 21 career games against the Panthers. The Penguins have won eight of their last 11, starting with a 3-0 shutout of the New York Rangers on Jan. 31. Pittsburgh saw its three-game winning streak end on Wednesday with a wild 6-5 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, a setback that dropped it to 3-4-0 at home. Florida ended its five-game winless streak by beating Philadelphia 5-2 on Thursday, earning its first victory in regulation since Feb. 3. Center Jonathan Huberdeau stepped up for the visiting Panthers with a career-high four points against the Flyers. He scored a pair of goals to raise his season total to eight, tops among all rookies.TV: 7 p.m. ET, RDS2, FSN (Florida), ROOT Sports (Pittsburgh)ABOUT THE PANTHERS (5-7-4): Florida recalled goalie Jacob Markstrom on Wednesday to provide some competition for Jose Theodore and Scott Clemmensen, and perhaps add a spark. The 23-year-old Swede played in eight NHL games over the last two seasons and could get the start against the Penguins. The Panthers are last in the NHL in goals against (3.62), even after Clemmensen backstopped the victory over the Flyers with 32 saves. Peter Mueller scored twice against Philadelphia, ending a seven-game goalless drought. Rookie Drew Shore continues to earn more ice time as he has notched seven points in the last nine games.ABOUT THE PENGUINS (11-6-0): Crosby isn't the only Penguin that has picked it up since a 3-3-0 start. James Neal has scored seven goals in the last eight games and Evgeni Malkin has collected 12 points in the last 10 contests as the Penguins have climbed to third in the league in scoring (3.29). The Penguins have registered at least one power-play goal in each of the last nine games and are 13-for-38 during that stretch, moving to second in the league (27.5 percent). Marc-Andre Fleury, who sat out the Philadelphia game, is 6-1-0 in his last seven games with a 2.01 goals-against average. OVERTIME1.
