North Carolina State 75, Virginia 56: Scott Wood scored a game-high 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, as the fifth-seeded Wolfpack pulled away from the Cavaliers in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament at Greensboro, N.C.T.J. Warren contributed 18 points and C.J. Leslie recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for North Carolina State (24-9), which plays top-seeded Miami in Saturday's semifinals. Richard Howell chipped in with six points and 12 boards for the Wolfpack.Akil Mitchell scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead fourth-seeded Virginia (21-11), which has lost five of its last eight. Leading scorer Joe Harris added 13 points on 4-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-9 from behind the 3-point arc.North Carolina State led by as much as 11 in the first half after a Wood 3-pointer with 4:04 left before settling for a 30-21 advantage at the break. Warren had 10 points and the Wolfpack held Virginia to 1-of-10 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes.Wood drained three 3-pointers early in the second half and a three-point play by Leslie gave North Carolina State a 44-25 lead with 16:31 to go.
