San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili had his post-surgery splint removed and is back practicing with the team, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
The 34-year-old broke his left pinkie finger in a game on Jan. 2, against the Minnesota Timberwolves and was initially thought to miss 6-8 weeks.
"He's shooting mid-range shots...he'll be cleared to go one-on-one in a week or so," said Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich on Monday.
Ginobili should return at some point during the Spurs' upcoming nine-game road trip in February.
In the five games he's played this season, Ginobili has averaged 17.4 points and 3.8 rebounds.
The Spurs have gone 10-7 in his absence.
