NEW YORK, N.Y. -

Andre Williams has been an accomplished running back throughout his young career. Now he has a chance to showcase his ability at the elite level. Williams was taken in the 4th round of the NFL draft Saturday by the New York Giants.

The Parkland product is making his new home a few hours down I-78.

Williams put together a fine season last year at Boston College. He led the country in rushing at more than 2100 yards. He won the Doak Walker award for the nation's top running back and finished 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting.

The Giants add even more depth to their already crowded backfield with Williams.

He wasn't the only local product to be drafted. Liberty grad Devin Street (WR) was drafted by the Cowboys in the 5th round. Street played his college ball at Pittsburgh.
