Dan Marino greets fans at new Wyomissing restaurant
Pro football Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino was on hand Wednesday night to meet and greet with fans at the new Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza restaurant in Wyomissing.
Marino is an equity partner in the restaurant chain and was happy to be present at the Wyomissing location this week. He said he didn't expect the huge reception that he got, but he was very happy that the restaurant was packed on one of its first nights.
69 News talked to Marino about the greater Reading area, his relationship with restaurant founder Anthony Bruno and yes, even the Philadelphia Eagles.
Known for its high-energy atmosphere and signature menu items, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza uses 800-degree anthracite coal-burning ovens and the highest quality ingredients. Anthracite is known to be the “cleanest” of coals, burning smoke free with extremely high heat to create a unique taste and perfect pies. In addition to its famous pizzas, the restaurant’s simple and consistent menu features award-winning “Italian Soul Food” creations, including coal-oven-roasted chicken wings with caramelized onions, pork ribs with vinegar peppers, home-style meatballs made from a family recipe and Eggplant Marino (Dan’s favorite).
Hours of operation for the Wyomissing location will be 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. In addition to dining in, patrons can carry out by calling 610-816-5722. A full bar is available.
