The District 11 committee handed down a ruling on Sunday in the case of embattled Palisades wrestling coach Omar Porrata.

The District elected to uphold Porrata's suspension for the rest of this year's postseason, and also ban Palisades' wrestling program from next year's postseason if the school continues to employ Porrata as a coach.

That ban would also apply to any other school who would hire Porrata.

Porrata caused a firestorm of controversy back on Jan. 31 when he forfeited an entire match to perennial powerhouse Bethlehem Catholic in the District 11 dual meet quarterfinals.
