Fightin Phils top Bowie, run win streak to 6

Andrew Pullin homered and had four hits, and Mario Sanchez pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings as the Reading Fightin Phils defeated the Bowie Baysox 4-2 on Tuesday.

Bowie had a runner on first in the bottom of the ninth, but Austin Wynns hit into a double play to end the game.

Sanchez (4-1) allowed six hits while striking out three to get the win.

Reading went up 3-0 in the third after Kyle Martin hit a two-run home run.

After Reading added a run in the eighth on a single by Chace Numata, the Baysox cut into the deficit in the ninth inning when D.J. Stewart hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Steve Wilkerson.

John Means (2-7) went five innings, allowing three runs and six hits in the Eastern League game. He also struck out one and walked one.

For the Baysox, Wilkerson doubled and singled three times.

Reading improved to 5-2 against Bowie this season.
