Reading grabs 7-4 win against Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Scott Kingery hit a two-run double in the fifth inning, leading the Reading Fightin Phils to a 7-4 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Saturday.

Binghamton had runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, but Luis Guillorme grounded out to end the game.

The double by Kingery scored Malquin Canelo and Tyler Viza to give the Fightin Phils a 5-3 lead.

The Fightin Phils added to their lead in the eighth when Chace Numata hit a two-run home run.

Reading right-hander Viza (4-4) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Marcos Molina (0-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game after giving up five runs and six hits over six innings.
