Fightins win suspended game, fall in series finale

READING, Pa. - The Reading Fightin Phils won the suspended game, 9-8, but fell in the series finale to the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-2, at FirstEnergy Stadium on Wednesday.

The Fightins resumed the suspended game-two from Tuesday with a 9-7 lead in the bottom of the 9th. Seth McGarry gave up one unearned run before closing the game out for good.

The final game of the series would go in a different direction. The Sea Dogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

The Fightins lone runs would come in consecutive innings off the bats of Zach Green and Deivi Grullon.

Next up for Reading is a road trip to Erie for a four-game series starting Friday.
