Cubs 6, Rockies 2
DENVER -- Javier Baez went 3-for-4 with two home runs and drove in four runs to power Chicago past Colorado at Coors Field.
The highly touted Baez had four hits in the series, including three home runs, and finished 4-for-14. Baez hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, an opposite-field shot to right-center field off Juan Nicasio, after a walk to leadoff hitter Chris Coghlan.
Kyle Hendricks, making his fifth major league start, pitched a career-high eight innings for the Cubs and allowed six hits. He induced 11 groundouts and lowered his ERA to 2.10.
Back-to-back home runs by Baez and Starlin Castro to open the sixth inning gave the Cubs a 4-1 lead in what proved to be the final inning for Rockies starter Yohan Flande (0-4). Castro's homer was his 12th of the season.
