Cubs 6, Padres 0
CHICAGO -- Anthony Rizzo hit two solo home runs, and right-hander Kyle Hendricks worked seven efficient innings for his first major league victory as Chicago snapped a five-game losing streak with a shutout of San Diego.
Hendricks (1-0), called up from Triple-A Iowa earlier in the day, allowed five hits in seven innings in his second big league start.
Rizzo made it 2-0 in the third with a leadoff, first-pitch shot to the back of the right-field bleachers. Rizzo homered off right-handed reliever Blaine Boyer in the seventh inning, giving him his seventh career multi-homer game. He leads the National League with 25 homers.
