Pirates 12, Dodgers 7
PITTSBURGH -- Ike Davis had three hits, including his first home run since June 9, and Gregory Polanco and Neil Walker also homered and drove in three runs each as Pittsburgh outlasted Los Angeles.
Polanco, a rookie right fielder, delivered the big blow, a two-run single with two outs in the sixth inning off reliever Jamey Wright that snapped a 4-4 tied and keyed a four-run inning. Travis Snider singled in a run and Polanco scored on a wild pitch by Wright.
Pirates starter Vance Worley (3-1) got the win as he pitched six innings and gave up four runs -- one earned -- and seven hits while striking out five and walking two. It was the right-hander's first career victory against the Dodgers after giving up a combined nine runs in eight innings in his previous two starts.
