CCHS boys, Becahi girls win LVC championships

CCHS boys, Becahi girls win LVC championships

The Central Catholic boys and Bethlehem Catholic girls both capped off perfect LVC seasons with impressive championship wins on Saturday at Freedom High School.

The Becahi girls dominated Central Catholic, cruising to a 65-33 win.

Janelle Robinson and Maggie Melhem each scored 20 points, while Kalista Walters added 14 for the Golden Hawks.

In the second game, Central Catholic edged Parkland 66-62 in a thrilling LVC boys championship.

Parkland led 38-33 at the half before Central Catholic battled back in the second.

Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman led the Vikings with 21 points.

Nick Rindock, who missed the regular season meeting between the two school, scored a game-high 28 for Parkland.

The title was the first ever LVC crown for the Vikings, who improve to 24-0 on the season.
