Gov. Mifflin's Johnson wins state gold

Governor Mifflin junior Jan Johnson won a PIAA 3A state championship at the Giant Center in Hershey Saturday night, while District 11 and District 1 wrestlers went a combined 1-7 in the title bouts.

Johnson beat Parkland's Nezar Haddad 6-0 to win the 195 lb title, becoming the second Governor Mifflin wrestler to win state gold.

At 106 lbs, Northampton freshman Dan Moran lost 7-6 to Franklin Regional's Devin Brown.

At 120 lbs, Pennridge's Scott Parker gave up a surprise takedown to drop a 3-1 overtime decision to Greater Latrobe's Luke Pletcher.

At 126 lbs, Northampton's Zach Valley lost 5-1 to Canon McMillan's Dalton Macri.

At 132 lbs, Nazareth's Chase Zemenak fell 2-1 to Penn Trafford's Coy Cameron.

At 220 lbs, Coatesville's Michael Boykin capped off an undefeated season with a 5-2 win over Boyertown's Jordan Wood.

And at 285 lbs, Pottsgrove's Pat Finn lost 6-1 to Solanco's Thomas Haines, who won his fourth consecutive state championship.
