Long, Ross set records as Pius X rolls

Pius X cruises into state quarterfinals

Quarterback A.J. Long and wide receiver Boise Ross each set Pius X school touchdown records on Saturday as the Royals rolled past Calvary Christian 55-20 in the PIAA state playoffs at Salisbury Stadium.

Long threw for 395 yards and six touchdowns and ran for another in the win.  Long's touchdown totals set a Pius X single game records for both passing touchdowns and overall touchdowns.

Ross caught a pair of touchdown passes, giving him a new single season school record with 18 receiving touchdowns on the season.

Pius X will advance to the PIAA A quarterfinal round to face perennial powerhouse Southern Columbia on Friday night at Nazareth High School at 7pm.
