LVC opens season with annual Yasso/Rothrock Tip-Off Classic

LVC opens season with Yasso/Rothrock Classic

A number of teams made impressive opening statements on Saturday in the Lehigh Valley Conference's annual season-opening Yasso/Rothrock Tip-Off Classic.

The Bethlehem Catholic girls, defending District 11 3A champions and PIAA state runner-up, pounded Parkland, 59-35.

The Central Catholic girls also won impressively, beating defending LVC and District 11 4A champion Nazareth, 58-33.

On the boys side, reigning LVC champion Liberty earned a 55-47 overtime win over Emmaus.

Dieruff picked up an impressive 66-52 win over Easton in Ben Childs debut as Red Rovers coach.

Central Catholic cruised past Nazareth 64-43, while Parkland squeaked by Bethlehem Catholic, 57-53.
