Minersville wins 9th state softball title in program history

Minersville's softball team won its 9th state championship on Friday, the most of any school in PIAA history. The Battlin' Miners did it with a 4-1 win over Claysburg Kimmel.

Minersville scored early, a run in the first on a Morgen Woodford single, then another in the 2nd when Reighly Melochick beat out an infield single.  Two more runs sealed the deal as Minersville won 4-1.
