Neshaminy drops 12-inning heartbreaker in PIAA state final

The Neshaminy softball team lost 4-3 in 12 innings to Canon-McMillan on Friday in the PIAA 4A State Championship game.

The game was scoreless after seven innings.

Canon-McMillan took a 1-0 lead in the 10th. 

But Neshaminy, which didn't have a hit through the first nine innings, rallied to tie it at 1-1.

Canon-McMillan went ahead 2-1 in the 11th, only to see the Redskins tie the score once again.

Canon-McMillan then pushed two runs across in the 12th.

Neshaminy got one back, but left the tying run on second base.

Canon-McMillan's Alayna Astuto registered 18 strikeouts in the win.
