Wyomissing opens state title defense with win

Wyomissing kicked off its PIAA state title defense with a 29-15 win over Schuylkill Haven on Saturday.

Scott Kuczala had touchdown passes of 90 and 49 yards for the Spartans.

Thomas Paolini had a 90-yard touchdown catch and a 66-yard touchdown run.

Wyomissing went 16-0 last year, becoming the first Berks County team ever to win a state championship in football.
