Hoskins early homer leads Phils to 4-3 win

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Philadelphia Phillies used an early homerun and two doubles to surge themselves to a 4-3 spring training win over the Minnesota Twins at Spectrum Field on Monday afternoon.

Rhys Hoskins got the Phillies on the board first with a solo shot in the second inning.

Carlos Santana and Maikel Franco each registered RBI doubles in the fifth inning to put Philly up 4-0, just enough to withstand Minnesota's late-inning rally.

Vince Velasquez earned the win on the mound.

Philadelphia is now 4-8 this spring training.

The team hosts the Red Sox on Wednesday in a split squad game.
