The Notre Dame baseball team saw its season come to an end on Thursday, while Spring-Ford earned a date in the PIAA 4A state semifinal round.

The Crusaders lost to defending PIAA 2A state champion Loyalsock 4-0 in the quarterfinal round in Pine Grove.

Kyle Datres, a North Carolina recruit, fired a one-hit shutout and struck out 11 for Loyalsock.

Notre Dame ends its season at 21-5.

The Spring-Ford Rams beat PAC-10 rival Methacton again on Thursday, and this one vaulted them into the PIAA 4A state semifinal round.

The Rams beat Methacton 3-2 at Neumann University in the PIAA 4A quarterfinals.

Spring-Ford had also beaten Methacton in the regular season and again in the PAC-10 Championship game. 

The Rams then beat Parkland 2-1 in the first round of the state playoffs.

Spring-Ford will face either Hazleton or La Salle College in the state semifinal round on Monday.
