IronPigs open May with series win over rival RailRiders

IronPigs beat RailRiders

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The IronPigs opened May with a series win following a 5-3 victory over the rival Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Thursday morning at Coca-Cola Park.

The IronPigs got RBIs from five different players, including a solo homer from Logan Moore in the 5th.

Ben Lively allowed three earned runs over five innings in a no-decision.

Pat Venditte picked up the win, tossing a pair of scoreless innings and striking out three.

The rehabbing Yankees' catcher Gary Sanchez went 2-5 with a double. He also knocked in a run for the RailRiders.

The IronPigs (14-12) next travel to play Game 1 of the three-game, road series against the Buffalo Bisons on Friday. First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field.
