Kia Damon introduced as Lafayette's new women's basketball coach

EASTON, Pa. - Eight weeks since Theresa Grentz was let go, Lafayette named her successor Wednesday morning.  Kia Damon becomes the 7th head coach in school history, having 19 years of assistant coaching under her belt at Green Bay, Fairleigh Dickinson, UMass, Penn State and last year at Cincinnati.  While her hiring comes late in the academic school year, she's looking forward to rolling up her sleeves and installing her style of basketball atop College Hill.

The 1997 Millersville grad was one of over 120 applicants for the position.  Her desire to use the sport to instill leadership in her players on and off the court is what put her over the edge.

The Lady Leopards went 14-17 in Dianne Nolan's final season, and were just 10-51 in the Theresa Grentz era.  Damon knows that there's a lot of work to be done, but is excited about the foundation that awaits her.
