Kutztown falls in District 3 final, other notable results

Kutztown falls in District 3-2A...

FREDERICKSBURG, Pa. - The Kutztown baseball team fell in its first trip to a District 3 final since 2013, as Newport got the best of the Cougars, 8-1, in the 2A title game at Wenger Field Friday.

Other notable District 3 baseball scores from Friday, Oley Valley, on a day in which they played for Preston Roe, shutout Biglerville in the 3A semis. Gavin Blankenbiller threw a 1-hit shutout. Tyler Wentzel went deep for the Lynx.

Governor Mifflin outlasted Central Dauphin in 15 innings in the 6A quarters, 1-0. That tied a District 3 record for longest game by innings.
