BOYERTOWN -

The Boyertown and Twin Valley legion baseball teams won on Friday, earning one of the final three spots in the state tournament on Saturday at Bear Stadium.

In the winner's bracket final Friday morning, the Bears edged Spring Grove, 8-7, to earn a spot in the state tournament championship game. Boyertown also locked up a berth in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament next week.

On Friday night, the Bears went up against Berks League rival Twin Valley. The Raiders came out victorious, 5-2, handing Boyertown its first loss of the tournament.

Twin Valley will face Spring Grove on Saturday afternoon at 12:30. The winner of that game advances to the championship game to face Boyertown. That game is scheduled for a 4:30 start in Boyertown.
