When Lehigh hosts Lafayette next Saturday, the Patriot League Championship will be hanging in the balance.

Lehigh earned a 31-14 win at preseason Patriot League favorite Colgate on Saturday.

That win means that the winner of next week's game will win the Patriot League title and clinch the league's automatic berth to the FCS playoffs.

Keith Sherman carried 27 times for 184 yards and a touchdown to pace the Lehigh offense.

Nick Shafnisky, the freshman from Whitehall, went 11-for-21 for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 35 yards.

Lafayette picked up its biggest win in years, stunning the undefeated and 5th-ranked Fordham Rams 27-14 at Fisher Stadium.

Ross Scheuerman ran for 169 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns to pace the Lafayette offense.

Freshman quarterback Drew Reed went 17-for-32 for 239 yards and a touchdown, while Mark Ross caught six passes for 115 yards and a 49-yard score.

The Lafayette defense had four interceptions and forced five turnovers overall.

Lafayette will travel to Goodman Stadium next Saturday to face Lehigh in the 149th edition of college football's most played rivalry.

WFMZ-TV will air a live pre-game show from the field at 12pm, followed by the game in its entirety at 12:30pm.

The game marked the highest-ranked opponent Lafayette has ever beaten at home.
