Lehigh Valley's wild Carpenter Cup ride ends on final day

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - After winning a trio of elimination games, it felt like the Lehigh Valley Carpenter Cup softball team was destined to make a run all the way to the title.

But after downing Delco West, 14-0, earlier in the day, Lehigh Valley saw Delaware North storm back from a 5-0 deficit and end the team's run in Philadelphia by an 8-7 final.

Delaware North scored all 8 of their runs in the 6th inning.

Lehigh Valley went 4-2 at the showcase and finished 4th, a strong showing for a team that faced elimination as many times as it did.
