Buchanan's strong debut leads IronPigs past Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

David Buchanan pitched seven strong innings in his Triple-A debut, leading the IronPigs to a 7-3 win in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Buchanan (1-0, 2.57) allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out four in his first start after being called up from Reading.

Every IronPig in the lineup had at least one hit.  The 'Pigs totaled 13 hits overall.

Cody Overbeck hit his 17th home run of the year, while Leandro Castro and Josh Fields each had a pair of RBIs.

The win was the second straight for the 'Pigs, who opened a season-long 10-game road trip on Saturday.

The IronPigs (59-57) move to 3 1/2 games behind first place Rochester in the North Division.

The 'Pigs will open a four-game series in Charlotte on Monday at 7:15pm.
