Franco hits for cycle as IronPigs split

Phillies top prospect Maikel Franco had a night for the ages on Saturday in the IronPigs doubleheader split with Syracuse at Coca-Cola Park.

Franco hit for the cycle in just six innings in game two of the doubleheader, capping it off with a long solo home run to center field.

Franco went a combined 6-for-7 with two home runs, four RBIs, four runs scored, a double, and a triple in the doubleheader.

The 'Pigs lost game one 3-2, before winning a 7-1 decision in the nightcap.

Jeff Manship (0-1, 4.09) suffered the loss in game one, while Tyler Knigge (3-3, 4.62) picked up the win in game two.

The doubleheader was the start to the IronPigs final homestand of the season.

The 'Pigs will host the Chiefs again on Sunday at 1:35pm at Coca-Cola Park.
