IronPigs blank Buffalo, gain ground in playoff chase

The IronPigs gained a game in the playoff chase on Sunday with a 7-0 win at Buffalo.

The 'Pigs moved within 2 1/2 games of Rochester for the wildcard lead with just nine games left to play.

Raul Valdes (4-4, 2.89) combined with three relievers to pitch a seven-hit shutout.

Steve Susdorf had three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run home run to pace the 'Pigs offense.

The IronPigs totaled 14 hits on the day.

The 'Pigs (69-66) will return home to Coca-Cola Park to host a doubleheader against the Bisons starting Monday at 6:05pm.
