IronPigs fall to Charlotte in series opener

The IronPigs kicked off an eight-game homestand on Monday with a 5-1 loss to the worst team in Triple-A baseball.

The Charlotte Knights, who entered the day 22 games below .500, hit three solo home runs in the third inning to take the lead for good.

Barry Enright (3-6, 4.77) allowed four runs in seven innings on the mound.

The IronPigs lone run came on a Cam Perkins RBI groundout in the ninth innings.

The IronPigs (34-37) will continue their series with the Knights on Tuesday at 7:05pm.

Phillies third baseman Cody Asche will rehab for the 'Pigs on both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
