IronPigs shut out Paw Sox in season opener

The IronPigs posted a two-hit shutout in their season opener Thursday night, earning a 4-0 win at division rival Pawtucket.

David Buchanan struck out five over six shutout innings, allowing just two hits to earn the win.

The bullpen then threw three hitless innings to preserve the win.

Cameron Rupp hit a home run and Clete Thomas had a pair of doubles for the IronPigs offensively.

Maikel Franco, the top prospect in the Phillies organization, had an RBI single, a walk, and a run scored in his triple-A debut.
