Biddle roughed up as Fightin Phils drop series finale

Top prospect Jesse Biddle endured another rough outing Sunday night in the Fightin Phils 9-3 loss to New Britain in Baseballtown.

Biddle (4-11) allowed five runs, walked six, and didn't make it out of the second inning.

Biddle walked in a pair of runs in the second inning, and also forced in a run on a hit batsman.

Anthony Hewitt hit a two-run home run and Sebastian Valle hit an RBI double in the eighth inning to provide the scoring for Reading.

The loss snaps the Fightin Phils three-game winning streak, and denied them a chance to sweep the series from the Rock Cats.

Reading (46-60) will open a three-game series with Erie on Monday night at 7:05pm at FirstEnergy Stadium.
